The International Union for Conservation of Nature – United States (IUCN-US) is a partner organization of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), an organization that has celebrated over 75 years of helping the world find real solutions to our most pressing environment and development challenges, and with which we share a common mission.
IUCN is an international organization, headquartered in Switzerland with a regional North America office located in Washington DC.
IUCN-US has been supporting IUCN and its network of members and partners for over 25 years. We provide financial support for:
- Research and technical products to improve conservation effectiveness.
- Policy work that ensures conservation action is realized, including advancing progress on IUCN motions.
- Conservation action on the ground in areas of high conservation value, including supporting the creation of the Vjosa Wild River National Park.
- Communicating the value and importance of nature, including supporting #NatureForAll, a global movement of over 600 organizations inspiring love of nature.
- Rewarding conservation excellence and building capacity for young professionals, including supporting the International Ranger Awards, the Kenton R. Miller Award for Innovation in National Parks and Protected Area Sustainability, and the Dr. George Rabb internships.
As the world’s oldest and largest global environmental organization, IUCN has an unparalleled leadership position to influence the direction of conservation and sustainable development.
But we need to do much more – and your support is vital. Get involved
